While 2023 boasts a fantastic round-up of new games, five are standing out above the rest. Keep reading to learn more about the hottest new games of the year.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

EA
Cal Kestis is back with a new look, cooler moves, and more lightsaber spins than you can shake a finger at. EA has big boots to fill after the success of Fallen Order’s heart-wrenching tale of the Order 66 survivor. In the story, we watched a broken padawan grow into a Jedi rebel that would make any master proud. With Survivor offering us more of his story alongside new worlds, more challenging puzzles and addictive new collectibles, things are looking on the light side.
Let’s just hope that EA can prevent a reoccurrence of the significant bugs that mired the release of the first game (á la Dunkey, of course).
Coming to a rebel base near you on April 28th 2023.
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Nintendo
One of the most anticipated releases of 2023 is Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. We’ve been waiting on it since it’s first announcement in 2019 and the new trailer doesn’t disappoint. The Kingdom of Hyrule appears richer than ever with bigger enemies, floating landmasses, hovercars and more, and our first look at what could be a mummified Ganon is a delightfully creepy addition.
LOZ: Tears of the Kingdom is slated for release May 12th, 2023.
Diablo IV

Blizzard
“Hatred has returned.”
That’s right, kids, mommy Lilith is back and she’s bringing all the forces of Hell with her. With a darker and grittier aesthetic than its predecessors, Diablo IV promises to take players on a journey through a world of unrelenting darkness, where every corner is filled with danger, uncertainty, and a whole lotta loot.
You will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of unique classes, each with their own distinct abilities and play styles. Whether you prefer to charge headfirst into battle as a barbarian, unleash wicked spells as a sorceress, or master the shadows as a rogue, there’s plenty of room to make your character a one-of-a-kimd demon-slaying machine.
Get ready to fight your way through the depths of Hell on June 6th 2023.
Street Fighter 6

Capcom
Not everyone is as thrilled as I am to see Zangief, but the rest of the new and returning crew of Street Fighter is sure to put a smile on some faces. The story of this game will focus on Ken and Luke’s stories but will have a beginning roster of 18 characters that you can choose from. You can see the list (and the movie launch trailer) on Twitter here.
The new Street Fighter drops June 2nd on all consoles. Hadoken!
Starfield

Bethesda
Where is Elder Scrolls VI, you ask? If I had to make a reasonable guess, I could imagine we see a teaser at the end of this year and a potential release date of 2025 for the game itself. ESVI has been put in time-out so that Bethesda can work on its new IP Starfield, which comes out on September 9th.
Starfield is Bethesda Studios’ highly anticipated upcoming role-playing game that looks like a rocket-fueled cross between Prey and Fallout 4. Set in an entirely new universe, Starfield promises to deliver a vast open world filled with rich lore, unique characters, and thrilling interstellar adventures. With shiny new graphics, an orchestral soundtrack, and the trademark Bethesda storytelling, Starfield is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious and exciting games of the year. Sign up to join Constellation here or buy the game on September 6th.
